The Class of 1986 30-year reunion helped spark the idea.
About us
Classmates giving back to TJHS seniors.
The TJ Class of ’86 Alumni Association was created to turn reunion connection into lasting scholarship support for Thomas Jefferson High School students.
Our story
From reunion conversations to scholarship support.
For years, the Class of 1986 came together every few years to reconnect, catch up, and celebrate old friendships. At the 30-year reunion in 2016, a few classmates began talking about doing something more lasting for their school.
After that reunion, classmates gathered again and formed the Thomas Jefferson Class of 1986 Alumni Association. The association filed for 501c3 nonprofit status and began focusing its efforts on scholarships for TJHS seniors.
The inaugural award was a $500 scholarship.
The association has awarded more than $11,000 in scholarships.

Why it matters
Helping students offset the cost of education.
Scholarships can help students pay for books, lab fees, dorm costs, and other expenses that come with continuing their education. The association is proud to represent the Class of 1986 by supporting deserving TJHS seniors as they take their next step.
This work is made possible by classmates, community members, golfers, sponsors, and donors who choose to help make a difference in a student’s life.
